Brian Keith Ricks Metropolitan Funeral

On August 2, 2020 God dispatched his angels to come and retrieve his son to eternal rest in the safety and comfort of his arms. Brian Keith Ricks affectionately known as “KeKe” was born to the late Jackie Ricks on March 4, 1963 in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was the eldest of four children and two whom preceded him in death Maurice Gary Jr. and Prentice Alexander Gary. He was the first grandchild to be born into the Ricks Family. Soon after he was born his mom met and married Maurice Gary who loved and accepted him as his own, he raised and took great care of him for years. Keith was a man of many talents. He was known for his artistic abilities from a youth and could draw anything or anyone at the drop of a hat. He was also a barber in his own right and carried clippers with him everywhere he went in his early adult years.

God blessed him with sheer intelligence and he could sit down and have a conversation or debate with the best of them. Although he had some struggles in his lifetime, he will always be remembered as a big brother and big cousin to us all and we will be sure to hold all of the many memories in our hearts. We thank God for covering him in all times that he might have felt alone or times when he felt life was sometimes too much. We loved you Keith but God loves you best and he loves you so much that he decided to bring you home to rest.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Ricks Gary; both younger brothers, Prentice “Peanut” Gray and Maurice “Wine”Gray, Jr.; grandmother, Mary Ricks-Williams; grandfather, Ned Ricks, Sr.; aunt, Marilyn Holloman; uncle, Donald Ricks and younger cousin, Enrico Holloman. Keith leaves to cherish his memories his father, Maurice Gary, Sr.; devoted sister, Jennifer Anthony (Nate); two daughters, Sherita Hodges and Felicia Williams (Tewan) and a son, Brandon Gauze; four granddaughters, Armia, Jordan, Milan and MeAshe’; two nieces, Emari (Shauni) and Jayauni; one nephew, Jar’I; aunt, uncles and a host of cousins.
